Archbishop John Bathersby: I warmly invite you to join me for Pray 2010.

Female Voiceover: What's Pray 2010?

Male Voiceover: It's this massive gathering that Archbishop John is organising in Brisbane in July 2010.

Female Voiceover: But what's it all about?

Male Voiceover: Well it's about prayer, you know, talking to God.

Female Voiceover: How much can there be to know about prayer, after all it really is just between you and God.

Male Voiceover: Well, that's just the thing there will be over 130 international, national and local presenters.

Female Voiceover: Wow! Really?!

Male Voiceover: Yep ... and they will run 40 keynote presentations, over 300 prayer workshops and a wide range of prayer experiences.

Female Voiceover: How many forms of prayer are there?

Male Voiceover: Well there are as many prayers as there are people, but there are many forms of prayer that have proved popular over the past 2,000 years but the list keeps growing. Obviously, the Eucharist and the Sacraments are key for Catholics together with morning and evening prayer and reading the Scriptures, but there's Marian prayers like the rosary, family prayers in the home, contemporary worship in song, Taize prayer, intercessory prayer, different forms of contemplative prayer, prayer in nature, journaling prayer as well as praying with your favourite saints to name but a few and that's only a taste of what will be on offer.

Female Voiceover: That's amazing, who can participate?

Male Voiceover: It's open to anyone who wants to learn more about prayer, whether you're a beginner, want to explore a particular style of prayer, go deeper in your favourite prayer method, appreciate the Eucharist more or you are trying to find a way to make prayer a part of your life then this is the place for you.

Female Voiceover: People say prayer is really powerful stuff but I struggle to make it a bigger part of my life.

Male Voiceover: That just it. Pray 2010 is about helping people like you and me discover what prayer can do. Prayer: gathers us together as a people, opens us to God's loving Word and Presence, transforms us through our encounter with God's love and healing power, sends us forth on mission to share this love with others.

Female Voiceover: That sounds grand, but do you think it will actually make a difference to people's busy lives.

Male Voiceover: Absolutely! Pray 2010 will show how prayer can be a part of our lives, by helping us realise that we can learn to be alert to the presence of God in all areas of our lives, whatever our age or work. This is something I am learning from the saints. They were just as busy as you and me yet they became so attuned to God's presence, that their lives became one big prayer.

Female Voiceover: You seem to have most things covered but will it be a talk fest?

Male Voiceover: There is a lot on offer but the venue at Clairvaux MacKillop College and St Bernard's parish and primary school at Upper Mt Gravatt will house more than just a massive series of workshops ... we will become the Body of Christ at prayer.

Female Voiceover: So what you're saying is that there will be lots of opportunities to actually pray as well as listen to this great lineup of presenters?

Male Voiceover: Got it in a nutshell! There will be a real buzz of prayer happening, prayer concerts, prayer resources, prayer through art and movement and a great celebration of the eucharist to conclude on the Saturday evening.

Female Voiceover: This sounds like 3 days not to miss, how do I register?

Male Voiceover: You can book online at the Pray 2010 website from 1st November - all the info will be there.

Female Voiceover: How am I ever going to choose - there are so many awesome options?

Male Voiceover: Literally, there's something for everyone including a youth concert on the Friday night with Fr Stan Fortuna, the rapping Franciscan priest from New York that's one thing I am not going to miss.

Female Voiceover: Yep I have booked 7-10 July 2010 in my diary, I'll see you there.

Archbishop John Bathersby: There is a place for you at Pray 2010 Be transformed by the power of God at work within you!
